Fall Favorites
Now that the first hard frost has hit, it’s time to unveil my true autumnal form. That means exchanging the linen for cashmere, swapping hot pink blush for muted red, and burying the godforsaken sandals in the back of my closet. Here are my top products:
✨ e.l.f. Sheer For It Blush Lip + Cheek Tint in Cherry Cola | $6 at Ulta
I normally hate multi-purpose products, but this tint is the exception. For good results, you need to blend fast. I’d suggest this color for warm skin tones only; cooler undertones might look a bit bruised.
✨Saltair Santal Bloom Nourishing Hair Oil in Light | $14.99 at Target
Dry air means dry hair. Hair oils are typically too greasy for me, but this oil from Saltair comes in both light and rich versions. I use the light oil on my fine hair.
✨ Sabrina Carpenter Cherry Baby Eau de Parfum | $35 at Ulta
If you love cherry scents, but think Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry is wayyyy too heavy, you’ll enjoy this. My partner says I smell “like the holidays” when I wear it.
✨ Cashmere Tee | $44.90 at Quince
Cashmere tees are my favorite thing to layer under a denim or bomber jacket for fall. They’re the perfect piece for temperature fluctuations. I linked to a Quince option above, but high-quality, secondhand options are inexpensive on eBay — like this one.
✨ Chunky Beige Sneakers | $175 at Hoka
I swapped out my bright white sneakers for a more subtle beige option. The warmer tone feels more in line with the season to me. I picked up the Hokas above during a rare sale. I also really like these Sorel sneakers.
✨ Pebbled Black Leather Bag | $78 at Portland Leather
I love the more relaxed texture of pebbled leather, and I think it’s a nice contrast to knit sweaters. I have a bucket bag from Portland Leather, but again, this is a great thing to pick up for dirt-cheap on eBay.
✨ Whirley Pop™ Stovetop Popcorn Popper | $34 at Whirley Pop
There’s nothing better than curling up on the couch and watching a movie with freshly popped popcorn. I love the homemade stuff with real butter — it’s so much better than the bagged version. Plus, something about popping it on the stove feels extra cozy in a “Little House on the Prairie” way.
✨ Lands’ End Dog Squall Jacket | $44.95 at Lands’ End
My four-legged family member deserves the best. She’s currently rocking this coat for all the rainy, windy, and potentially snowy weather a Midwestern fall can throw at us. As a bonus, you can get your pet’s name embroidered on it for only $10.
